NEED A PLUMBER? WE’RE IN YOUR TERRITORY!

  • Some Commercial Plumbing problems need a plumber to come running!
  • It is regulated that grease traps are required for waste pipes for some businesses given the amount of grease that is generated from their daily operations.
  • Did you know that Plumbdog also service Local Perth Businesses?

Plumbing for Commercial Kitchens

It’s regulation to have all waste pipes in a commercial kitchen running through a grease trap as you can imagine just from the sheer fat content in food and dishwashing flowing through the drains on a daily basis.

In this VLOG, one of our priority clients and favourite restaurants to dine gave us a whistle and as always, we came running!

Blocked Drains

When it comes to blocked drains, tree roots are a common cause and we’ve shown a few blocked drain videos now where we have water jetted and cleaned out drains where others couldn’t. In todays video, we visit a busy commercial kitchen in South Perth because off of their plumbing fixtures in the kitchen were backing up and flooding.

CCTV Inspections

Being a commercial kitchen, the grease trap should be regularly emptied so it’s a good sign that the grease trap wasn’t full because it means that the restaurant has been doing the right thing. With that confirmed, Richard used CCTV to quickly identify that the waste pipe was clogged and full of grease.

High Pressure Water Jetters

Our locally custom made high pressure water jetters don’t just cut tree roots like a knife through butter, they cut through grease too.

Have a look at the CCTV footage and you can see what a clean pipe looks like compared to pipes with some grease build up

In this video one of our top dogs Rich takes us to a property in Langford where this property had blocked drains. Using CCTV for inspection and high pressure water jetter combined, he has been able to clear the roots away.

Tree roots tend to grow in close proximity to moisture; as a result, they get attracted to the water pipes, causing massive damage. Rich is an experienced Plumbdog and knows how to sniff out problems when it comes to fixing blocked drains.

The Video

In today’s video, we see how Rich clears roots as far along as 11 and 14 meters from the inspection point creating blocked drain problems in multiple locations. He gives us a close up look of the process and some CCTV video footage of the job at hand. It’s not something everyone gets to see so we hope you enjoy the video.

The Blocked Drain

An underground pipe has tree root ingress creating a blocked drain issue. The pipe is surrounded by thick tree roots, which have cracked open the pipe from multiple points. Tree roots are a common problem and if you have been following our videos, you’ll notice that no two jobs are the same.

Another complication discovered comes from a bad fitting from when the pipe changes from earthenware to PVC where it’s not aligned correctly and is not fitted properly. Upon further inspection, there are also multiple locations in joining areas where tree roots have penetrated through.

The Solution

With his expertise, Rich uses our locally custom made high water pressure jetter down the access point, which helps in rapidly unclogging the congestion. The combined high pressure water jetter and CCTV allows us to effectively remove the tree roots in multiple problem areas and inspect that the job is done right.

In combination with the latest tools of the trade and experience, our obedient Plumbdogs are able to get the job done quickly and efficiently saving our customers time and money. This is why we say we have ‘all the gear and every idea’.

Our valued client called us out recently after attempting to clear blocked drains himself. He actually had a fair go at it, however unfortunately most root infested drains require expertise and the right equipment in order to get them flowing again. Watch how Darius from Plumbdog in Perth is able to not only clear the drain but to also 100% clean the drain pipes in the process. Old fashioned drain clearing equipment that is carried by most plumbers are only able to clear a drain around 50%, meaning you’ll be calling them out again in no time. Rely on Plumbdog, we have all the gear and every idea when it comes to blocked drains Perth.

Making your Blocked Drains Great Again

If your drains are rooted and creating havoc on your drainage system, your local plumber like the team from Plumbdog provide the best solutions for blocked drain clearing and repairs. With their extensive knowledge and skilled expertise, they have all gear and every idea to clear the root infested drains and bring them back to the original cleaned condition.

The tree roots are one of the most common causes of blocked drains causing blockages which are not necessarily easy to detect or clear. Some properties have tree ingress in various locations. In the video you will see how Darius, one of our top dogs, has visited the site and has examined the rooted drain. With the help of a CCTV for inspection along with a high-pressure water jetter, he has cleared the roots inside the drain.

We all know that roots start to grow in the area where their moisture, hence they start to grow inside the drains and creating excessive damage to the property. Darius has many years of experience and makes clearing the roots look easy.

Inspecting the blocked drains

Darius found that there was another issue to consider. Due to the bad fitting, the pipe changes from the urban wear (clay pipes) to the PVC and it is not aligned properly. After further inspection and water jetting, he found more locations where the tree roots have penetrated inside the drains. This is a huge benefit of CCTV inspections. If the job was only half done properly and the drains appeared back to normal, you’d be calling a plumber back out in no time.

Water jetting the blocked drains

After inspecting the drain properly and knowing the causes, Darius fires up our locally made custom high powered water jetter inside the drain. The high pressure of the water cleans out the drain and unblocks the roots.

Having all the gear and every idea is why our obedient Plumbdogs have a long list of happy customers and why we are the maintenance plumbing experts that people turn to.

Blocked Drain in Kensington, Perth WA

In today’s video, our obedient Plumbdog Perth plumber is on a property in Kensington in Western Australia. The task for today is a blocked drains present in the rear left-hand corner of the property. The first issue in hand is that Richard has to figure out the exact position of the inspection shaft. which is the access point into the mains.

Finding the Inspection Shaft

After a little inspection using the shovel, Richard can determine the correct position of the inspection shaft. But the next issue at hand is that it’s a bit beyond the reach, and it’s almost a foot down deep into the sewage water. If he tries to get hold of it, then the water would go over the top of his glove; hence he has to think of a better way to handle the situation.

To get a better result, Richard instead decides to use a bucket to get all the water out by directly putting the bucket inside the hole as far as possible. He repeats the process around 20-30 times to get the water level down to get the hold of the access point and figure out if it’s a mains blockage or not, but unfortunately, it’s all in vain. No matter how hard he tries, the water keeps refilling at a swift pace, making it impossible for him to accomplish his task.

Reporting to the Water Corporation

After failing multiple times to get the water levels down, the best option is to report to the water corporation. Being quite certain that the issue is in the mains, Richard reports to the water corp to send out an emergency crew to clear the blockage and also a crew to disinfect the property.

Important Note: Only a licensed plumber is able to report to the water corp. A customer simply can’t contact the water corp directly and needs to have a licensed plumber visit the property first.

Providing Long Term Solutions

After the water corp finished clearing the mains and disinfecting the property, our experienced Plumbdog can make recommendations to keep the plumbing in good order going forward. The fact that the property houses a lot of matured trees, tree roots are a most likely cause of the blocked drains. With our specialised equipment, we can complete a full inspection and make recommendations along with a recommendation to bring up the inspection shaft to the ground level which is an ideal position.

For now, the best Richard can do is wait for both the water cooperation and disinfectants to do their job, and then Richard can re visit to see what’s the best he can do to combat the issue at hand.
